Hu Yongqi: The focus on “space” and the gradual shift of the focus angle have deepened my understanding of space. These works are trying to build a multi-dimensional space as far as possible, but at the same time they are trying to crush the space and find entanglement and exit between the order and logic. Object and idea, existence and nothingness, what is “space” like? The characteristics of watercolor on paper provide me with a good performance texture, the uniform friction of pigment powder after separating from grease and the solemn effect of fine absorption of light. The seemingly rational picture actually provides a silent habitat for viewing of “space”.
