After graduating from the Art College of Xiamen University, Huang Fangqi returned to Muyang and settled down between Muxi and Beishan Mountain in the east of Fujian Province. In the comfortable corner, he named his studio as “time palace”, reading, painting, meeting friends, enriching himself, learning from nature, and making friends with people in ancient times. Visiting close places like Liancun and Huotong ancient town, and distant places such as Xiamen, Fuzhou, the scenic spots in the southeast he arrived are all his ashrams. Watching clouds changing, clues revealing, getting a little understanding of Su Dongpo, and traveling with ink, always feeling that “the breeze on the river and the bright moon among the mountains are sounds to ears and colors to eyes.
