Chen Hongbo: In my works, I deliberately try to create a sense of distance. I present this sense of distance through perspectives, a feel of authenticity. The open backgrounds make them feel secluded and profound. All images come from past memory and are presented in a structured manner. The images in each layer are separated by semi-transparent materials. I use this painting process to reflect the process and state of my memory.
