Wei Yao: I consciously parallel the two spaces of "inward" and "outward", and try to find some relationships and emotional clues among them. The expression and recording of life fragments including reproduction intend to complete the construction of my world, and at the same time find and convey a sense of “security" again on paper. By using relatively symbolic line language, "graphic" is readily available to transform and upgrade. Through such practices, I put the concept of time into my works. It means that I evaluate the existing experience and facts in the view of present, through interweaving and exchanging the two different times and spaces - the present life and the tradition - to create “uncertain possibilities” in my paintings.
