Fan Yourong: "The Residual Light" of my work refers to the vivid landscapes of our lives, those that wescarcely notice. The impression they give us in visual eect seems irrelevant, simply residual light and illusion. But actually, these visual experiences spark our thoughts, help awaken us to change and to the transitions of society. The simultaneous occurrence of our senses of speed and of illusion, along with the dichotomy between rural and urban, are too easily patched over and neglected. However, these are important visual issues worthy of our re-consideration.
