Hu Wendan: I choose simplicity in my works and even simplify them to just one or two ideas, meticulously expressing these in paint while leaving the rest of the canvas white. I look at everything in my life and feel that so much is beautiful and full of vitality. The sense of time and space grant all things an aura, which I closely search for. Each aura contains a singular texture, which is the focus of my obsession.
