Zhang Tianyi, born in Liaoning in 1995, has been living in Beijing since 1996. He graduated from Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology with a bachelor’s degree, and Chinese National Academy of Arts with a master’s degree. He once studied in Italy, and obtained the academic certificate from the Università Iuav di Venezia, the University of Florence, Academy of Fine arts of Florence. Currently he is working in the National Art Museum of China. And He is member of the Chinese Urban Sculpture Artists Association. His artistic practice lies in miscellaneous art mediums, including sculpture, painting, installation, video, etc., in which he emphasizes an in-depth exploration of plastic arts with conceptual expression. Most of his works originate from self-perception, with the final presentation incorporating the objective world, social phenomena, and philosophical thoughts. Most of his works are quiet, pure and clean. There is the flow of music in the abstract works, and the silence of life in the figurative works. The non-traditional media works also reflect some rarely noticed thoughts.
