In 2023, I will turn my creative direction to Suifenhe in Heilongjiang Province from Manzhouli in Inner Mongolia. As one of the main lines of the Middle East Railway, there are countless Tsarist Russian buildings and Japanese colonial buildings left over from the construction of the Middle East Railway in the cities of Northeast China. These exotic buildings with different styles and functions bear witness to the semi-colonial history of Northeast China. After a hundred years of history, they have ushered in different fates. There are still many buildings in use today, taking on cross-era functions, and there are also a large number of buildings scattered in the wilderness, gradually disappearing in the long river of history. This photography project aims to use the unique objective recording of the photographic medium to carry out retained photography of the current colonial architectural images, covering 55 cities in Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang and eastern Inner Mongolia.
