The significant visual reference of the art work "Volume" is the uterus. In the early stages of my creation of the "Hospital Project", I’ve already wanted to create a sculpture by utilising the uterus figure as the object. At that time, I created more than ten medical posters in the surrealism style, among which the theme of "Daughter Fairy and the Female Reproductive System" (2012) was the uterus. After that, I attempted to do more. However, what I wanted to express remained unchanged: a synesthesia which emerges among the art creator and the viewer based on many depictions about unconsciousness. It was not until 2023 that I tried again and found a shape that was close to the horn in part, and I was confident to do this work well. I spent ten months completing Volume 2, which is the work in the heaviest working load I have ever created.
