I remembered the way Qin Qiang painted his ink drawings, and he chose to use a beige-colored cloth with a little bit of cotton wool inlay as the carrier. But the materiality of the material does not engage the viewer directly. Qin Qiang's images do not indicate a clear meaning. In other words, an image is not a symbolism that others can weave at once. It may seem counterintuitive that forces opposite to those of a different nature exist. But they form a world full of harmonies and contradictions - the composition of the work. Thin roots of plants grow out of ink that flows downward along with gravity, and hands grow out of brushes that are drawn with hands. Qin Qiang's figurative compositions are metaphors for the intertwined and cyclical ways of existence."Modes of Existence," refers to the ways in which Qin Qiang composes his works, as well as the laws of composition of the world that he has personally experienced and witnessed with his own eyes. ——Yin Xinchen (Korean curator, critic)
