The works of Kong Huidong focus on two aspects. On one hand, they explore the most immediate personal life experiences and how they impact and influence the present, transcending the timeline to create a dualistic imagery that encompasses both the past and the present. Similar to the portrayal of eyes with slightly smaller pupil s, the expressions are a culmination of multiple emotions blended over time, lacking precise definition. On the other hand, due to Kong Huidong's experiences living and studying in Italy, he pays attention to and depicts imagery with Western religious undertones from a fresh perspective. This allows him to portray a questioning of the hidden social classes in contemporarysociety and the concept of absolute truth. In other words, he provides an open outlet for subjects that may appear to have already been fully described, giving them a new interpretation.
