Li Hua: Slice of City Series No.7 marks a striking contrast from how conict is depicted in other works, focusing instead on the expression of raw emotion. Here, the noise and depression of the city are concealed by a desolate playground, and the ice-cold window still looks out on the ordeals of history. Direct expression is not stronger than the opposite in narration. There is only desolation left, after the noise and depression of the city and humanity's war on nature have meted out their punishments.
