How should we think about memory? In this memory-based installation, the mechanical movement of the bow constitutes a decoder—the transparency of the acrylic sheet becomes a double metaphor for memory when the bowstring embedded with LED strips is crossed through the acrylic sheet: it is both a container for preserving the past and a refractive medium that "distorts" reality. We can clearly see the multiple reflections of words in the strings, the hazy memory body buried in the depths, because of the momentary touch, suddenly remembered, and gradually relieved - for memory, we seem to be reconstructing, rather than retrieving.
