Tang Dayao: Too much attention to the surface leads to inferior visual results. The painting is superficial. Knowledge should not be narrowed down to uniform visual symbols. Slowly, my attention shifts from the surface to the structure of the painting. The narrative begins from top to bottom, from left to right. The drawing has been replaced by another relation, which is akin to the overlapping of myself and painting. It can flow from one to the other. In my understanding, it may be called painting poetry as well as painting width.
