Xu Qin has always been painting cartoon figures, models and stories. He enjoys using his animated sense of everyday humor and absurdness in these paintings and represents himself in almost every painting with a "chicken." Xu Qin's obsession with producing this virtual scene is to achieve a self-dominated world full of its own logic. In some sense, Xu Qin's works have an urgency, since he lets the painting retreat to pursue a visual joy in the chosen medium. The aesthetic experience from the comic form provides more possibilities for modern art.（Cheng Jin）
