Xu Hongxiang: To me, the creative process reads like an image. In fact, it is interpreting myself. I try to make use of existing pictures and familiar scenes to sort my thoughts and memories. After being washed, dissolved, dipped and dyed, a complete picture becomes blurry and "non-complete". Then rigid parts which have no transitions are added, which break up the pictures and then transform them into "completeness". I do not pay attention to the so-called "story" or "implied meanings." What I care about is what is left to me after this process from the picture.
