Kim Hyosuk: Kim Hyosuk represents human psychological anxiety through a construction site's transitional, unstable traits. The departure point of her painting is concern for construction sites she saw as a child, undergoing frequent moves. In her work, a house demolished looks like fragments in a gravity-free state, or appears floating like some organism. One scene symbolizes the psychological state of anomie, or eruption of desire. Anonymous people hiding their faces under caps of achromatic colors appear hesitant and wandering. They are metaphors for beings without color or identity in a social convention of stereotypes.
