Cai Qian: I love beauty that is close to nature, the kind of beauty that is clear of human factors, personal interests, and emotions. All beauty is born from emptiness and can be destroyed by emptiness. An artist's so-called materials cannot be separated from the emptiness and freely travel within that emptiness. They construct reality from illusion and illusion from reality. What I search for in this process, in my work, is a kind of freedom from all pre - judgements and prejudice.
