Cai Qianqian: As a painter and someone who wants to understand other painters, I must constantly pursue a kind of visual enlightenment. Paintings are the visual presentation of a painter's state of mind. A girl around 20 years old, with her mind lost in beauty, nature, youth and love may be vividly portrayed on canvas. Sometimes, indescribable excitement sparks in my heart when I unfold a piece of Chinese paper and paint a beautiful girl who has a similar age as me. The simplest and purest expression should be clean and natural. Every brush stroke should reflect my understanding of enlightenment, as I knew it at age 20, when I was gentle, modest, and in love with nature.
