He Zijian: In my opinion, painting is a method of expression for individual opinions. It is also a kind of reflection concerning an individual's recognition to everything in the world. My works contain a contradictory logic. One finds a kind of imaginary scene that is formed through the combination of solid components or the interaction of images. This is not an integration of the traditional and modern. It is a way to explore the possibilities and necessities of the works themselves. Various kinds of visual expressions are formed as a means to communicate an idea or kind of thinking.
