Li Baiming: The old house depicted in my series, "The Past in Hometown", is filled with the memories of several

generations. It contains the best time when I was young. Reflect on the past makes me delighted, quiet, lucid, and more dependable. If a painting has significance or value beyond itself, it is to awaken us to past memories of the people who have lived, shared similar experiences, and given something to the forest of experience. These works are like memories of a past life communicated through a visual language in our fast-paced environment of urbanization and social transformation.
