Lee Hyunho has taken the motifs of his work from the common, familiar nature about him rather than superb natural landscapes or famous showplaces. The nature he captures is not artificially processed or adorned but natural in and of itself. He processes this nature as his own distinctive scenery by adding artificial objects, offering another view of such ordinary nature. He transfigures the ordinary look of nature into something unfamiliar and presents this to viewers, excluding contrived intention with a candid expression and reflecting mechanical, functional viewpoints. This rendition appears objective and reasonable, but his viewpoint is fundamentally concealed in this.
