Gong Xu: In this series of work on "War", imagery from traditional oriental and western cultures are coupled with a mix of contemporary pop culture elements, in an attempt to achieve a visual effect of half conflict and half harmony. Recreating and recombining traditional images with contemporary elements, a unique and chaotic world is revealed. Here, the derivative use of original work tries to create a new and interesting way of description. The original work has become the background of an original new image or "world view", telling new stories about "events" taking place in the same "world."
