Jiang Yu: Search for what moves me in daily life, pursue the truth, warmth, and the extraordinary, and then express it t hrough self-constructed space – this is my way of working. This latest series is a further extension of my previous work. In "They Are Not Specimens", I continue to adopt some surrea list techniques and use simple pictures to describe humanity's relationship with nature. The glass jar here is both a form of imprisonment and protec tion. Its industrial identity allows us to occupy a dominant position of sur vival, in which humans de termine what is k illed or protected. However, is this an attitude consistent with nature? Alter natively, is a natural state even something we really want? As I worked on this series, I searched for my own answers to these questions…
