Li Yanyu: In my paintings, every thing is a generalized form, every thing is a simple mode and everything is a common feature drawn from various objects in what is called abstraction. The mos t commonly used abstract symbols are points, lines, and sur faces. In my paintings, however, these simple symbols are updated into many irregular polyhedrons such as spheres, cubes,and cuboids. Through recombination, they take on an unseen look, becoming original images with new colors and life.
