Tang Mingwei: Contrasting the width and length of lines and the rendering of colors, I hope to add a kind of emotion and rhy thm to this simplemechanical form, allowing others to share the same ineffable spiritual experience it imparts on me.The affect this form generates is sometimes specific and sometimes hazy, as seen in a mechanical operation that achieves its right or wrong ef fect.One looks at the mechanical product of a printer that, due to program error, nozzle problem, and wetness of ink,creates an imperfect image, for instance. Such failing traces are just the star t of a beauty which can be seenas the emotion of mechanics; I imitate it, I restore it - unconsciouslyyet with a sense of control. This form can also be thought of as the set of numerous coordinates that support a subject in a certain way.
