Xu Minghao: The monochromatic is filled with endlessly changing details when basking under the light. Through lines in threedimensional space forming the basic elements of paintings: points, lines and surfaces, the main figures will be rendered in highlight, reflection and shadow - This is the beatitude and marvel of the natural light - it does not need extra pigments to decorate itself. The principle subjects of the series are light, ocean, and sky. I have used some metallic colour to express our worship of their natural colossal power. When gazing on its beauty, we will certainly face some awe and sense of ver tigo: a kindof power that we can never control or master.
