Zheng Feng: The figures I created are in old-fashioned dress. The first ideological emancipation in China happened during May 4th Movement, and there appeared many wise men, so I prefer to paint scholars' images according to the knowledgeable,intellectual people of that time. In my paintings, I imagine the figure as courteous and accessible, benevolent and kind with a cultivated scholarly image. He stay s with plants and insects, sharing joy and sorrow with them. In the petals with sunshine after rain, he stands on the swaying Bauhinia Flowers, looking ahead in the distance at the Peach Garden he has never been to. On a
