Zhu Peihong: What the modern metropolis gives us are neon lamps, vehicle flows, blocks of buildings, screens of stock charts and tickers, and advertisement boards every where. Itgives a strong visual impact that incurs my reflec tion towards the life status of people nowadays. The key of artistic creation is to release the flippancy inside the life of the individual and to seek the genuine self internally during the creation process, rather than in the final result. In the full course of painting, the picture is initially presented in abstract terms, a time when any intentional deliberation is rejected. The meaning of work s can therefore depend only on process, in which the changes in creation obey the changes of personal experience.
