HYSTERIA IN SILENCE - Hysteria is a symptom of unmanageable emotional excess often resulting a loss of self-control due to overwhelming fear. ‘Hysteria’ refers to a fearful awareness of an unpredictable emotion particular to women. Ironically when one seeks some sort of change, it should begin from this point of extremely daunted hysteria. Change does not necessarily signify something grand, new and energetic. We hunker down soundlessly, but this very act may trigger change that helps us leap forward.

The figures in my painting are thrown into hysteria by an unforeseen event. ‘What’ they decide to choose is irrelevant. What matters are the ‘choices’ they have in front of them. Hysteria could be the symptom indicating us to bring change through making our own choice.
