Zeng Jiajia: I have always paid specific attention to “landscape”. On the basis of breaking away from the traditional landscape forms, I form independent systems by way of patterns directly one by one, and recombine impossible scenes and objects, which can only coexist peacefully in a picture. The complicated relationships between materials and the psychological states of real life are sources of my creativity. I apply the structure of Chinese traditional decoration and modern structural knowledge to my works, recreating daily scenes, and expressing myself through recreating these familiar scenes. I aim to experience the workings of the subconscious in the universe that I create.
