Dong Jing: With the development and popularization of computers, the Internet and mobile devices, the rapid pace of development of society, and being surrounded by a constant flow of information, modern people no longer pay attention to “content” itself. My work takes the form of old photos depicting images containing the latest information, but is also a continuation of my graduation series. I think the “object” is the concept of an eternal truth. Blindly chasing time will allow oneself to be held captive by it. If one doesn’t grasp the work as a whole, the work will not be grounded. So in this work, I use different chairs as “interesting” objects to show their something about their owners’ lives, social classes, statuses, identities and backgrounds. I give voice to simple objects and their environments, allowing them to speak that I might record their stories.
