Huang Weihong: My work uses displaced animals as vehicles for artistic expression, placing them in strange locations. Following the casual entrance of the animals, the functionality of these public spaces is compromised. Cars cannot drive on the road, people cannot swim in the swimming pool, and the subway exit was jammed... The functional public spaces are turned into places of leisure that take on the appearance of a farm or ranch. While they appear quiet, the spaces' original orders have been shattered. There are no human beings in the public spaces I displayed. Instead, the animals play their role. That said, we should not ignore the human element that lies beneath the scene, as it was humanity that caused such an alienating scene to emerge in the first place. When such alienation occurs in human society, the results can be disastrous.
