Wang Yilong: Silhouettes are, to me, the best expression of personal memory. They force me to, when facing concrete outlines of forms, fill in the space inside based on what remains from my memories. The images created are, in this way, divided into two layers, one of which is light frozen in time, while the other is an image previously existing only in my mind. When these two layers are placed atop one another, mutually limiting one another in a true-or-false equation, the though-provoking issues I aim to raise pour forth from my work.
