Xiao Bin: This series of works is made from threads and strings produced by stretching of rubber or gum, with raw materials reshaped, reconstructed and placed in certain forms, and thus displaying structure. The original quality of the materials is put in focus, with its ability to stretch as well as the tension that such a stretching creates. The works represent not only an exploration in materials used in artistic creations, nor just a simple physical activity, but also a self-cultivation and search for the trails and traces of life.
