Yang Fangwei: My works try to use dreams to reflect reality, and to use nature as a metaphor for society. At the border between the real and the surreal I search for balance. In a slightly sentimental and lyrical tone, I bring various elements and symbols into my pictures. Ethereal clouds and floating halos bring poetic sentiment to the canvas. Behind all images and symbols lies hidden cultural context, intertwined with reality and desire, leaving no facet of life untouched. Occasionally it is like light that shines upon absurd reality, bringing comfort to us. My work is the pursuit and invocation of this "spiritual light".
