Ohkojima Maki:  What we can know about the world is like what we see of an iceberg floating in the sea. I tell a storywhen I make a work of art, in itrevealing the depth of the unseen world. I endeavor to make the viewer take the first step in noticing the fact that we only have partial knowledge of the world in which we live.

Animals, water, and the sun are all made from small elements cannot be seen by the naked eye.

A stone has two sides, the surface that we can see and the underside that remains hidden.  Sometimes we might even need to break it apart in our imagination to truly understand its nature.
