Liu Baolin: “Lines” are only my languages of painting, but still they have a dimension of life. The seemingly calm and rational image could not disguise the past restlessness. As I snap the lines one by one, I feel conflicts. The process should be calm and ordered, but it is always interrupted by my unconsciousness. As if the lines are live that they keep growing and breaking, so I have to calm them down. Again and again I draw them straight with the feeling that they are my rivals. Still a balance is kept. Maybe it is also a representation of my present life as well as my understanding of human living.
