Chen Qiaoxi: My art explores the relationship between the personal and intimate aspects of lived experience and the cultural ideology of humanity, and steps into the infinite possibilities of objects that can potentially be personified. The work deals with transforming intangible yet intense pieces of information into concrete visual language. Observation of anxiety and a sense of loss are explored along with the way individuals manage hidden desires and inner shame. The media chosen to carry this concrete visual language are always closely associated with humans, bodies and objects. I consider my works to be executions of giving form to intangible concepts. The creation of images and description of objects are for me about exploring the limits of the relationship between our inner consciousness and our ability to speak the unspeakable.
