Ding Min: These works originally trace their origins to an exploration on the theme of loneliness. Influenced by Tim Burton's clay animation, I started painting with different materials, and was then inspired by some film scenes and stage sets. With regard to characters' movements, emotional expressions, and scene settings, I tend to express both the scene in which a character finds himself as well as the feelings of character himself. I have tried other means of expression besides painting, employing more props and sounds to express the loneliness of characters in their environments. Some of the scenes were created by drawing inspiration from literary works and films. However, they also incorporated my own understanding of loneliness.
