Du Xue: My insistence on adopting thin comes not only from the shyness and beauty of the material, but also the implication and inspiration it holds. People tend to conceal maybe for the sake of self-protection. In order to avoid conflicts with the outside, they hide their feelings and different thoughts. We are weaving our own cocoons where we get trapped but protected as well, gaining self-cognition while being healed. The human bodies I created on thin moved lightly and frailly, expressing their innermost emotions like performing a pantomime. Creating is a process of exploring and discovering myself. Audience are welcomed to my world through my works. I sincerely look forward to a resonance.
