Ge Yulu: This work concerns the connection of my personal memory and urban space. One is from the East Lake in Wuhan. Another is in Beijing, which has a clearly designated East Lake (bus stop). The rapid urbanization has evaporated the waters of East Lake, but the evaporation of memory is slow. So the East Lake (bus stop)only remained its name. This is also some kind of prophecy for the East Lake in Wuhan. The lake can be reconstructed, and the order of these lakes and their name is no longer important. Only individual memories feebly struggled in this fierce reformation. This struggle indicates the plight of identifying location on a growing city’s map. What I did is just put the extruded result of the urbanization process back into the natural condition, and let the nominal lake and the real lake to confirm their respective absurdity.
