Weng Io Wong: Responding to the ‘weak gesture’ and ‘compression of time’ mentioned by Boris Groys in ‘The Weak Universalism’, the concept of ‘weak gesture’ in relation to our daily habits is significantly affected by the usage of technological devices. When we repeat a gesture and action in a daily manner, the effect on our self-recognition, identity and body is possibly beyond our imagination. Groys also remarks that the Internet has become a platform that enables weak gestures to continuously repeat. We are constantly repeating ourselves, most of the time without our noticing. Where will it lead us to?
