Wang Zibo: Many friends have told me my paintings are quiet and calm. ‘Calmness’ is my mode of expression, but my actual inner emotion is ‘restlessness’. This emotion is rubbed into my pigments through with my brush. This 'calmness' is a choice I have made for my artistic expression at present. I want to place the force derived from conflict between 'calmness' and 'restlessness' onto the canvas through continuous modification, to express my emotions in a ‘whispering’ and 'quiet' voice. Perhaps this 'calmness' is an 'invisible' clue that I left to allow the viewers to more easily enter into my world through my work.
