2008 Graduated from the Electronic Integrated Art Department of the Alfred University  with a master’s degree.

Zhang Moliu: I have for a long time been painting female forms. None of them is actually self-portrait, but each work nonetheless presents one of my states of being and my thoughts regarding it. In my painting these female subjects, besides my appreciation for the human body, lies also my understanding of their behavior and my guesses about goes on inside their minds. I do not intend to focus too much on the “pretty” aspects of female features. Rather, I turn my attention to what lies hidden behind their bodies and behavior. What appears as sleepwalking or hypnosis seems to be a secret code that conveys secrets that cannot be told in any other language.
