After graduation, I was sent to a branch of Beijing Film Academy in my hometown, where I knew few fellow painters. Most of my friends focused on photography or video. Though the town lacked a certain atmosphere required for painting, my eyes opened and I took the chance to try things I’ve never tried before. In 2017, I received an order for a wall painting measuring more than 10 meters long, for the refurbishment of the Military Museum of the Chinese People’s Revolution. I climbed up and down on the stairs like a machine to paint on the wall, which brought me back to those days of hand-painting stage sets in the 1980s. Later, TV host Jing Yidan and I cooperated on a program broadcast on CCTV Channel 4. It was the first time in my life that I have worn make-up.  Therefore, after these experiences, something changed in my mind when I returned to painting –– I carefully tried to build my own utopia.
