The expression of water is changing rapidly, and the sound of water is beautiful, endless and endless. Water can be seen everyday, evoking a feeling intimate yet ineffable, simply watching water makes it self-evident. In "Confucius on water" Zi Gong asked, "When a gentleman sees a flood, he must watch it carefully. What is the reason?" Confucius said, "Can water inspire a gentleman (close to the virtue of nature) to use it as a metaphor for his virtue cultivation? It spreads all over the world and gives to all things without partiality, just like a gentleman's morality; It waters things to grow wherever it goes, just like a gentleman's benevolence; water flows downward, shaped in all forms, just like a gentleman's nobility; in shallow places it constantly flows, in deep places it is unfathomable, like a gentleman's wisdom; it falls to the abyss of thousands of feet without hesitation, like a gentleman's wisdom; …… no matter how many questions, we must flow eastward into the sea, just like a gentleman's unswerving faith and will. So a gentleman must observe the flood carefully.”
