Being an artist with a multicultural background, my art focuses on my experiences with cultural differences and the structure of humans in society. To convey this, I mainly make use of oil painting as my medium.

For the majority of my paintings, I like to replace humans with animals. When learning about the human relation to art, we are taught about the human body and the different aspects of depiction it can represent. By using animals instead, I change my focus to the argument that humans are not the sole species on earth who are worthy of artistic documentation. Parts of the human spectrum of emotion can be argued to be better visually explored through depictions of animals because of their instincts and majestic images.

This inspiration for me derives from Buddhism, where a part of their belief system comes from the questions and sought of truth as to why we are humans, and what our purpose in this life is. I am planning to explore these thoughts through learning other countries artistic approaches, to better understand the different ways cultures make use of art and painting, and to illustrate these questions of existence, posed by the Buddhist mind-set.

I am hoping for people to understand and appreciate my thoughts through my art, as the visual stimuli of a thought or question can often explain better than language.
