For
its series of annual art exhibitions and promotion events, Art Nova 100 each
year nominates about 100 artists from across China, as well as invites a small
selection of international artists. The exhibition tour of these artists' works
takes place both in China and abroad. These exhibitions and their related
events provide a large-scale promotion platform for the most promising young
artists. Art Nova 100 program formally first launched in September 2011. Since
then, the exhibition has completed its tour in China, with notable exhibitions
and events in many cities, including Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Wuxi. In
addition, Art Nova 100 has had the privilege of collaborating with all kinds of
people and organizations who support young artists, making the program and its
events even more successful. The 2011 Art Nova 100 exhibition series had the
honor of winning L'Officiel Art’s “Annual Art Event Award”, and Artron.net’s
“Annual Art Phenomenon Award”, and became a unique brand for promoting young
artists.
Art Nova 100
continually explores for exciting and innovative models to promote young
artists. The 2012 program has taken an approach that we call "100+10+10".
"100" refers to our main part of the program which is 100 Chinese
young artists. The first "10" which refers to 10 Chinese video
artists represents specialization of the program, and the second "10"
which refers to 10 Korean young artists participating in the program represents
internationalization trend of the program. Building on Art Nova 100's concept
of "Rooted in China while integrated with Asia", Art Nova 100 will
continue to integrate more resources from across Asia for an integrated Asian
young artists program, gradually expanding Art Nova 100 into a platform for
young artists and their collectors from across Asia. As the program moves
forward it will continually grow more international and take on new global
objectives.
