Painter, art critic and art director of the Today Art Museum, Xu advocates that traditional aesthetics and technology should be transformed through contemporary concept and practice. His paintings have been included in numerous important exhibitions, including the "China Modern Art Exhibition", "Five Thousand Years' Chinese Civilization and Art Exhibition", "China Pavilion for the 12th International Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennale", and "Reshaping History: ChinArt from 2000 to 2009", as well as other important Chinese and foreign exhibitions. Xu also serves at the Creation and Research Center of the China Art Research Institute.
